This policy explains how kontaq collects, uses, shares, and protects information when people use the kontaq website, mobile applications, guest-facing service pages, QR/NFC service links, messaging, calling, video, file, analytics, and account features.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as name, email address, phone number, account credentials, profile details, organization or property details, user roles, billing or business contact information, support messages, and any content you choose to add to kontaq. Depending on how the service is used, that content may include service pages, room or amenity labels, messages, service requests, call or video activity, uploaded files or photos, menus, links, policies, directory information, feedback, and notes.
Guest, property, and service data
kontaq is designed to connect a guest need to the right team and location. When a guest or visitor uses a kontaq page, we may collect the information they submit, the page or touchpoint they used, approximate technical information about the device or browser, timestamps, message or request content, and routing or response activity. If location or mapping features are enabled, kontaq may process location labels, property areas, or geolocation information that is provided by the user, property, browser, or device permissions.
Device, usage, and analytics information
We may collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, feature interactions, log data, crash or diagnostic information, and aggregated analytics. We use analytics tools, including Google Analytics on the website, to understand site performance and improve the service.
How we use information
We use information to create and manage accounts, provide kontaq pages and service workflows, route guest requests to the right team, support messaging and communication features, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, respond to support requests, personalize and improve the product, measure usage, communicate with customers, process business inquiries, enforce terms, comply with legal obligations, and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of kontaq, customers, guests, and the public.
How information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with property owners, team members, account administrators, or service providers as needed to operate kontaq and fulfill the request or workflow. We may also share information with vendors that help provide hosting, storage, analytics, communications, authentication, payments, customer support, security, and similar services. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Property and organization accounts
If you use kontaq through a hotel, resort, employer, property manager, or other organization, that organization may control or have access to information associated with its workspace, pages, users, guests, requests, and communications. Organization administrators may manage users, roles, content, routing, service records, and retention settings within their account.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect security, and support legitimate operational needs. We may retain anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified information that no longer identifies a specific person.
Account and data deletion
Users may request deletion of their kontaq app account and associated information by visiting https://kontaq.com/data-deletion-request/ or emailing support@kontaq.com with the subject line “Delete my kontaq account and all information.” Please include the email address or phone number connected to the account and any relevant organization or property name so we can verify and process the request. When we delete an app account, we also delete or de-identify user data associated with that account that kontaq controls, except where limited retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, dispute, backup, or compliance purposes.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a privacy request, email support@kontaq.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
kontaq is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for use by children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to kontaq, contact support@kontaq.com so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
International use
Information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where kontaq or its service providers operate. If you use kontaq from outside the United States, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your location.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and post the revised policy on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or by other appropriate means.
